Books ~
Since
I read a lot, I was thinking that writing a little mini review of the
books I was reading would be a good waste of time. (For both you and
me, I suppose) I love to read ... everything from science fiction and
fantasy to self help to biographies. I've always thought that reading
helps children and adults get a better grasp of the English language -
they spell better, their grammar is better and overall it's so
beneficial for everyone! The more you read, the better you express
yourself and since communication is the key to everything, how can it
be a bad thing? Since I can't remember every book I've read, I'm just
going to start fresh with the last two books I've read and the current
book I'm reading.......

The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri: Bought this book a
while ago on one of my rampant Borders sprees and have just picked it
up. Its the story of an Indian family who has just moved to the US and
the trials of their firstborn being from two cultures. It won a
Pulitzer Prize, so I'm thinking it will be pretty good. :)

Things My Girlfriend and I Have Argued About by Mil Millington: This
was recommended to me by my friend Moosie and HOLY CRAP, what a
hysterical book. If you have ever been in a serious relationship,
whether it be married or even just living with a significant other, you
need to read this book. There aren't that many books out there that
actually get me to laugh out loud while reading them ... but this
book? I was giggling and laughing out loud all through reading the
book .... there wasn't a dull moment. If you want a good laugh? Read
this book .... hands down ... the funniest book I've ever read.

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown: I had heard a lot about Angels and
Demons, which I haven't read yet but wanted to read this before the
movie came out. Granted, I read it about 2 months ago, it was a very
good book. Definitely an easy read because I read it on the trip up to
Toronto which was only about a six hour flight total. The characters
were very likable and the plot was feasible
~ which will definitely be a key in making the movie. Overall, I
would definitely recommend it, especially if you like spy type novels
and are looking for something that's entertaining.
