Every man's work, whether it be literature or music or pictures or architecture or anything else, is always a portrait of himself.

So a little over a week ago, Joel became aware of this amazing offer on hockey cards that we couldn't pass up. Basically it was about 35,000 hockey cards for a few hundred dollars. So we jumped on the offer and yesterday afternoon the many boxes stuffed full of hockey card gloriousness arrived.

When I finally got home, Joel and I spent the next hours pouring through them. It was so much fun. I'm working on making sets from the cards that I like - SP Authentic, Fleer Ultra, Upper Deck Series 1 and 2 ... and so many more. There aren't a lot of specials or inserts it seems but really, for a few hundred bucks, how can you go wrong??

My plan is to go through one box at a time and create the sets I like. Then maybe make sets of the ones I'm not so keen on but I'm not sure yet if I'll waste my time on that. With the extras of the sets, I'm going to go through the players that I don't have cards for and haven't done TTM ... and then send those off. It's definitely a hefty endeavor to take on but man, if it comes together? What an amazing collection I'll have! Not only of hockey cards but autographed ones!! Yay!

If that wasn't enough hockey goodness in the day, I got my very first TTM (through the mail) too! So even though he's not a Shark, I have to say that Martin St. Louis of the Tampa Bay Lightning is my hero because he proved that it actually works. It really made my day!!
